Hey! Just a note, this has been pulled from my old site so, while the site is being built, some things may not work correctly.
Some things, like embeds, may not work correctly. You can visit the original post on the old site here:

Getting App Version with Expo and React Native (Updated)

08/02/2022

A while ago you may have seen that I made a post called Get the current App Version with Expo and React Native. I made that post when I could only build and run on Android which it seemed to work perfectly fine on however, recently, I noticed that this doesn't seem to work correctly now but I have found a solution!

The solution lies within expo-application. This includes information about the app itself, natively, on the platform. Using nativeApplicationVersion you can get the App Version that's native on the platform.

Rather than posting individual steps, I made a snack! And I don't mean that in the food snack, sadly. I mean an Expo Snack! You can see all the code in the neat box just below this text!

Thanks for having a read, hopefully, this helped you. If it did, consider buying me a coffee on Ko-Fi at https://ko-fi.com/rhyce.
